We Finance Any Car To Back Rising Star Tom Lebbon

We Finance Any Car is delighted to announce that it will take on a major sponsorship deal with Tom Lebbon for the 2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship season.

The talented teenager marked himself out as one of the rising stars of the British motorsport scene last year as he graduated into car racing for the first time on the back of a successful career in karting.

Having secured the 2020 Ginetta Junior Scholarship award, Tom moved into the series with leading outfit Elite Motorsport and made light of his rookie status with a stunning campaign on track that saw him not only lift top rookie honours, but also secure the overall championship title.

In total across the 21 race season, Tom would finish on the podium a grand total of 15 times – including five wins – as he wrapped up the championship during a dramatic season finale at Brands Hatch back in November.

That made him the first winner of the Ginetta Scholarship to go on and win the title, and saw him awarded the British Automobile Racing Club’s Peter Collins Trophy for most promising newcomer.

On the back of his hugely impressive 2020 season, Tom will take his career to the next level this year with the move into BRDC British F3, remaining with Elite as it embarks on a single-seater programme for the first time.

Tom will form part of a three-strong line-up for the Elite team, with the Bury St Edmunds driver being one of the youngest racers on the grid this year.

The new season will kick off next weekend at Brands Hatch and features 24 races spread across eight events at circuits including Silverstone, Donington Park and Spa Francorchamps – the home of the Belgian Grand Prix hosting the one annual overseas event.

We Finance Any Car’s deal to support Tom as he graduates into single-seaters will see the car finance broker expand its motorsport sponsorship portfolio as it seeks to boost brand awareness and exposure to a wider market.

With fans soon being welcomed back to racing circuits as government restrictions are eased, the We Finance Any Car brand will be given a prime slot in front of an enthusiastic trackside audience for the majority of the season and will also feature on BRDC British F3’s enhanced TV package, which features a live online stream alongside highlights on ITV4.

Tom Lebbon, Elite Motorsport, said:

"I’d like to thank We Finance Any Car for this opportunity and for showing their belief in me as I make the move up into BRDC F3. I’m delighted to have their support, and I hope that this can be the start of a long and successful partnership together as I look to further my racing career.

"My goals for this season are to learn as much as possible and as the championship season develops, I hope to work my forwards up the grid so that I can regularly challenge for points in my first year racing in single-seaters.

"I can’t wait to get behind the wheel for the first round, and we’ll see how things go from there."

Dan Kirby, We Finance Any Car managing director, said:

"From our involvement in the British Touring Car Championship paddock, we had the opportunity to see first hand last year how good Tom was in the Ginetta. To perform as he did in his first season in car racing was hugely impressive, and he clearly has the potential to go a long way in the sport.

"Moving straight up from the Ginetta to BRDC British F3 will be a big step for Tom and we know that 2021 will be a learning year given that he has never raced on slick tyres or in a car that uses aero before. However, we are confident that he will be able to make an impression on the series as the year goes on, and that he will be a good ambassador for the We Finance Any Car brand both on and off track."
